ADOA releases new azDOA.gov Portal

— filed under:

New features include a new comprehensive layout, RSS syndication, integrated search, and much more.

As many states are learning, e-Government is becoming the key to fast, reliable, economical communication with the state’s citizens, businesses and state employees.

ADOA has been building toward a new website design that includes many features that simplify the management of key information while making it easier to find and use. When this transformation is complete, ADOA will have a portal that allows more direct and secure delivery of timely information to each “customer” of ADOA.

New features include a revised, comprehensive layout that allows for multiple paths to information without the blind alleys old style websites would have – blind alleys where old, out of date information could mislead the state’s citizens, businesses and state employees that stumbled across it.

Also, with the new content management tools and RSS syndication, anyone inclined can subscribe to get a browser notice (RSS) when there is new information in an area they want to track – they can use RSS tools to alert them of the new or changed information. The new site improves ADOA’s divisional information by offering integrated search, and much more.

We are proud of this improved e-Government “home” for ADOA. But please offer suggestions on how we can continue to improve it – this will be an ongoing, collaboration to benefit us all.

CNN’s RSS page describes RSS/News Aggregators:

RSS/News Aggregators (also called Readers) will download and display RSS feeds for you. A number of free and commercial News Aggregators are available for download.

Many aggregators are separate, "stand-alone" programs; other services will let you add RSS feeds to a Web page.

The Washington Post provides information on RSS readers at the bottom of this page What tools do I need to use RSS?
